今日は、TOEICのお話をしてみましょう。

TOEICは９９０満点で、英検のように合格不合格はありません。

英検は、全国津々浦々どこでも受けられますが、TOEICは大都市のみでの開催です。

英検は年３回の開催ですが、TOEICは１～２カ月に１回開催されます。

私は、２時間かかる京都まで行かないと受験できないので、子どもが小さい間は、簡単に受けに行くことは出来ませんでした。

でも、TOEICを受けたいという気はあって、初受験は英検１級に合格したらしようと決めていました。

それから、英検１級に合格。でも、娘の大学受験があり、TOEICをすぐには受験できなくて、受けたのは半年後でした。

その時の点数は８８５点。

英検は１級が最高で、もう受けなくていいのですが、（合格しても何度も受ける方もあるようですが）勉強しないと英語力は落ちていくばかりです。

そこで、TOEICを学習のモーティベーションアップにと思って、毎年１回受けてます。最初が８８５点だったので、目標を９００点にしました。しかし、数年８００点台のままです。

今年は、もう少し受ける回数を増やし、学習を楽しみながら、９００点突破できたらと思ってます。

Let me write about TOEIC today.

The full score of TOEIC is 990, and there’s no passing mark like Eiken test. You can take the Eiken test even in a small town while TOEIC only in big cities. The Eiken is held three times a year, but TOEIC takes place once in a month or two.

I have to go to Kyoto for TOEIC and it takes two hours by express train. When my daughter was small, I couldn’t be away from home for a long time for taking it.

I had, however, wanted to take TOEIC and decided that I would do it when I’ve passed the first grade of the Eiken test.

Later, I passed it, but I couldn’t spare time for taking TOEC at the time with my daughter’s entrance exams for universities. I actually took it after a half year.

The score then was 885.

The top grade of the Eiken is 1 and I don’t have to take it any more, (Some take it even after they passed it.) but my English ability has gone down. 

So, in order to have a motivation for English studies, I take TOEIC once a year. The first score was 885, as I said, so I set the goal at over 900, but my score has remained around 850.

I’m going to take it more time this year and I hope that the 900 barrier will be broken.
