I don’t watch TV. I’m a little bit exaggerating, but it’s a waste of time for me to spend time on watching useless entertainment programs.

It may be good to watch them for diversion, but I don’t spend much time in front of TV.

I’ve got that good habit since I started studying English.

The Internet is much more useful to get information what I want. News is always available both in English and in Japanese. Information on the Internaet is always new and in detail.

The economy has become so unstable after the huge earthquake in Tohoku area. I think people, especially young people need to aquire some skills to survive in the unstable society.

There are not so many Japapnese who have good command of English If you master English, there will be a good chance of getting a good job and you will be well-paid.

My students, don’t waste too much time on TV, and go for studying.

私は、テレビを見ません。というのは、ちょっと誇張していますが、役に立たない娯楽番組を見るのは私には時間の無駄なんです。

気晴らしに、見ることもいいでしょうが、テレビの前で長時間時間を過ごすということはありません。

この良い習慣は、英語の学習を始めてからつきました。

欲しい情報を得るなら、インターネットの方がずっと役にたちます。ニュースはいつも、日本語でも英語でも手に入りますし、情報はいつも新しく、詳しいです。

東北大地震で経済はますます、不安定になっています。日本人は、特に若い人ですが、その不安定な社会で生き残るために何か技術を身につける必要があります。

特に英語の出来る日本人は少ないので、英語も武器になることは間違いありません。英語をマスターすれば、良い仕事が得られ、良い待遇が受けられるでしょう。

生徒たち、テレビで時間を無駄にしないで、勉強に向かいましょう。

A new class for the first graders of junior high school started today. There are six students in the class : five of them are boys and one is a girl.

They were very serious in today’s lesson. I like serious students.

They practiced writing ABC and were able to write well.

I told them two of my favorite sayings.

Never say die!

Where there is a will, there is a way.

I hope they will like English and enjoy it.

今日から、新中１生クラススタート。

みんな、まじめでした。私は、まじめな生徒が好きです。（＾ｖ＾）

アルファベットの練習もしましたが、みんな字もていねいにきれいに書いてくれました。

最初に私の好きな言葉を紹介しました。

「弱音をはくな」

「意志あるところに、道あり」

これから英語が好きになってくれて、楽しんでくれたらと望みます。

I don’t think I’m good at time management. I waste time on trivial things. Then I fall into a state of self-hatred.

I’ve read several books on time management, but only reading them is not enough. I’ve got to put the ideas into practice.

When I’m busy, I feel like studyinjg. When I’m free, I waste time on thinking, taking a nap, browsing the Internet, and so on.

The Internet is really convenient as it gives us a lot of information and English learning materials.

I’d like to use it wisely to make time for learning English.

 私は時間管理が上手ではありません。つい、ささいなことに時間を無駄にしてしまいます。

時間管理術については何冊か本を読みましたが、読むだけではだめですよね。実行しなくちゃ。仕事をマニュアル化するなどは、意識してやってはいますが。

忙しい時は勉強したくなって、いざ時間が出来ると考え事をしたり、昼寝したり、インターネットで情報を検索したりで、結局勉強しなかったりします。

インターネットは本当に便利で、たくさんの情報が得られますし、英語学習のサイトもたくさんあります。英語学習にそれを賢く利用できたらと思います。

I’ve just finished the class for the second graders of junior high school. Today, all of them couldn’t recite the content of the textbook I had assigned them to do.

Recitation in English is very effective to improve English. Only ten minutes’ or so recitation a week is not enough at all.

So, I encourage my students to practice reading out loud their textbooks for twenty minutes each day.

That gets them into a habit of studying every day. Students with good grades have the habit of studying.

If they read out loud textbook untill they memorize every day for a period of time, good results will appear in their grades in English.

I hope they will like reading out loud.  

中２クラスが終わりました。最近、音読練習を怠けているようで、今日は全員覚えてきていませんでした。

音読の効果は、本当にやった人にしか出ません。週に１～２回、１０分程度ではほとんど効果はないでしょう。

ですから、私は生徒たちに毎日２０分、暗唱できるくらいまで教科書を読みなさいと言っています。

これは、毎日の学習の習慣づけをさせることにもつながります。

成績の良い生徒は、やはり、勉強の習慣が出来ているのです。

もし、生徒たちがある期間、毎日私の言うとおり素直に覚えるまで音読をやってくれたら、必ず音読の効果が成績になって現れるでしょう。

そして、「音読」をしないと落ち着かないくらい、「音読」が好きになってくれたらと思います。

Suddenly my new computer won’t work. I’m writing this blog using the old one. What’s wrong with it? Should I take to a store to have it repaired? Thankfully, I have backed up the data I made for my school, so it’s ok to have the data in the computer deleted.   

突然、新しいコンピューターが動かなくなりました。今、古いパソコンでこの日記を書いています。ウィルスにやられたのでしょうか。以前、一度、やられたことがあります。それから、データは必ずバックアップをとっているので、修理に出してもOKなのですが。

Whew. It works now. What a relief!

やれやれ。動きました。一安心。

Today is the beginning day of the new term for me. The students are still in their spring vacation and they must be enjoying it.

As for me, I’ve been busy with preparation for the new term such as making lesson plans and getting teaching materials ready for my students.

Well, I’ve got to get to work now.

今日から新学期の仕事初めです。生徒たちは、まだ春休みで休みを満喫しているでしょうが。

私はといえば、レッスンプランを作ったり、教材を準備したりと忙しかったです。

さて、時間もないので、仕事に取り掛かることにします。ε≡≡≡(*ゝω・`)

It’s my birthday today. (^^)　Don’t think I’m telling a lie because it’s April Fool’s Day. I can’t say my age and I’m not young physically any more, but still young mentally.

It was fine, but I didn’t do nothing special but ate some cake and sushi that were delicious.

今日は私の誕生日です。エイプリルフールだからって、うそついていると思わないで下さいね。もう年齢は言えない年ですが、肉体的には若くなくても、気持ちは若いです。

今日はいい天気でしたね。でも、ケーキとお寿司を食べた以外は、特別なことはしませんでした。おすしとケーキおいしかったです。

Today is the last day of March. Time really flies.

I’m going to get busier next month with an additional class to give, and the number of my students has increased, but I think I’ll be able to manage my school.

Each class has each challenges to meat. I’m happy with them, because I’m able to learn constantly. Learning has no end.

I’m also happy with the students. I love children. Of course, I sometimes have problems with them and feel down and I even can’t sleep at night.

On the other hand, I feel extremely happy when a class went well or my students get high scores or good grades in English at school.

The trouble I have now is not to have enough time to study English for myself.

Well, since I don’t have any classes to give today, I will study English.

今日で3月も終わりです。時がたつのは速いですね。

来月から、教えるクラスが1クラス増えますので、また忙しくなります。おかげさまで、生徒の数も増えてきました。

それぞれのクラスにそれぞれのチャレンジがあります。絶えず何かを学ぶことができるのは、幸せだと思っています。学ぶことには終わりがありません。

生徒たちが来てくれるのも幸せです。私は子どもが大好きです。もちろん、時々問題もあり落ち込み、夜眠れないこともありますが。

でも、レッスンがうまくいったり、生徒が英語で良い点や成績を取ると、本当にうれしいです。

ただ、問題は、自分の英語の勉強の時間がなかなか取れないこと。つい、仕事のことばかりになってしまいますので。

さて、今日はレッスンがありませんので、勉強しますよ。

I made a newsletter in the morning yesterday. The contents are about my students who have graduated from their junior high school and the Easter party I held last Sunday.

The students successfully passed the exams for high schools they had wanted to enter.

Also, to show how the party was, the newsletter has a lot of pictures from it.

I’m glad I made it soon after the party.

昨日、午前中かかって、教室のニュースレターを作りました。中身は、中学を卒業する生徒たちのことと、この前の日曜日のイースターパーティについてです。

中学生は、みんな高校に合格しましたので、その報告です。

イースターパーティの方は、パーティの様子がどんなだったかを見てもらうために、写真をたくさん載せました。

パーティのあと、すぐに作れてよかったです。

教室のみんな、ご父兄のみなさん、見てくださいね。

I stopped drinking coffee when I was diagnosed some disease on my kidney last fall, but I felt like drinking something between meals, especially in the morning. At first, I drank lemonade using fresh lemon and honey, but it was a little bit sour. I was looking for some other drink.

Then I found good one that is Korean tea. The color is like milk tea and it is sweat and contains some nuts which are aromatic. It has become my favorite.

昨年秋、健康のため、コーヒーを飲むのをやめました。でも、食間に、特に午前中、何か飲みたくなります。最初、レモン果汁とはちみつで作ったレモネードを飲んでいたのですが、ちょっと、酸っぱいのが苦手でした。

今年に入って、あるところで「韓国茶」を勧められ、飲んでみたらおいしくて、それから、ずっとそれを飲んでいます。箱は韓国語で書いてあるので、製品名もわからなかったのですが、ネットで調べてみたら、どうやら、「ダムト」という「はと麦・クルミ茶」のようです。

はと麦・くるみ・アーモンド・ピーナッツ・カボチャの種などが配合されたお茶で、それがこうばしく、ほんのり甘く少しとろみがあります。

ミルクティーのような色で、松の実・くるみ・アーモンドが浮いていて、その食感も楽しめます。

栄養価も高いようです。

私のお気に入りのお茶になりました。
